Providing an intuitive "experience of implemented examples of solving social issues in the community."

■ Introduction of the Client
NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE EAST CORPORATION (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo, President: Naoki Shibuya, hereafter referred to as NTT East),examples of implementing solutions to various social issues—spanning primary industries, manufacturing, logistics, retail, culture, arts, sports, disaster prevention, and more—are being showcased at the NTT e-City Labo, a field dedicated to demonstrating and experiencing the realization of a regional circular society. This time, we have introduced the Immersive Engine and Immersive Magic Wall to NTT e-City Labo.

■ Challenges Before Implementation
At NTT e-City Labo, visitors are introduced to real, operational examples on-site of solutions addressing regional social issues, such as smart agriculture greenhouses. This has enabled visitors to resonate strongly with these initiatives and has created opportunities to develop new regional solutions in collaboration with the local community. However, conveying the real experience of remote locations, like smart agriculture greenhouses or regional events aimed at boosting community activity, has posed a challenge in visitor engagement.

Conveying initiatives for social contribution through ICT in a more visually impactful and profound way.

■ Results of Implementation
To address this challenge, the Immersive Engine and Immersive Magic Wall were introduced. These technologies allow visitors to experience, visually and immersively, examples of implemented solutions to regional social issues, thereby more powerfully conveying the value of these initiatives.

The Immersive Engine projects video of farms to detail on-site activities, and through CG images displayed on three walls, it provides visitors with the experience of being in a CG environment. This enables a more intuitive understanding of how these initiatives function in practice and their contribution to society.

The Immersive Magic Wall is a wall projection system using quantum dot technology, offering vivid clarity and immersion beyond conventional projection. With enhanced contrast and depth, it leaves a strong impression on visitors, effectively conveying the impact and essential value of these advanced technologies.

Moving forward, NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE EAST CORPORATION will continue to expand examples of social implementation that address regional social issues, installing these examples at NTT e-City Labo using the Immersive Engine and Immersive Magic Wall to enhance the value of this field as a space for demonstration and hands-on experience toward realizing a regional circular society.

    IDEA Showroom/SocioFuture, Ltd.

    SocioFuture Corporation provides ATM monitoring and security coordination services and software development for financial institutions. The Immersive Engine was installed in IDEA, a showroom that utilizes space and content. Three projectors project ultra-high definition images on the L-shaped white walls, and the contents projected in the next-generation digital showroom space, which is also equipped with an ATM demo machine, can be controlled by iPad. No special knowledge is required. Anyone can easily display video and document data. In addition, interactive contents linked with an airborne touch display system using hologram technology have also been introduced. The welcome message and video presentation will create an impact and immersive experience for guests visiting the venue.     TAIKISHA Corporation is an engineering company whose main business is air conditioning systems and coating systems. Immersive Engine was installed at TAIKISHA INNOVATION GATE Shinjuku, which connects the company's technical development center in Kanagawa with a satellite facility in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. Ultra-high definition real-time images of the factory taken by 360° cameras are projected on an L-shaped white wall where two projectors are installed. The projection technology development center is connected online to the real-time video images of the projection technology. Furthermore, the projection of the person in charge of the facility on the wall enables seamless communication with the person in charge onsite, reducing travel and time costs.
