  ITOKI CORPORATION does more than manufacture and sell office furniture. The company has long put forward proposals for how workplaces are designed and how people work. The Shiga Factory in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, is the mother plant that develops and produces roughly 240,000 office chairs a year. In January 2026, ITOKI completed a full renovation of the chair factory and reopened it as ITOKI DESIGN HOUSE SHIGA, a new manufacturing base built on the concept of co-creation. Following the head office in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, Immersive Engine has now been installed at this base as well.

This time, under the concept of “maximizing human capital and evolving ‘team operations’ to drive further results,” it renewed the 12th floor of its own working showroom, “ITOKI DESIGN HOUSE TOKYO.” As a place to maximize productivity by working as a team, it positioned “Commons Hill”—a space equipped with a large LED—at the center of a single open floor, and adopted Immersive Engine in this space that symbolizes co-creation.
